Pollster John Zogby reports in our weekly White House report card that while President Obama's disapproval rating is just under 50 percent, the notable wounds suffered by rapper Jay-Z, embattled Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling and the Gray Lady -- the New York Times -- made him look good by comparison.
"Now some folks really had a very bad week. Donald Sterling deteriorated before our very eyes. Let's just declare him fully deteriorated and make him go away.
“Jay-Z was beaten up by wife Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles. You live for the media, you get slaughtered by a surveillance camera in an elevator.
“And the New York Times? Not a good week at all. They fired their first woman executive editor, Jill Abramson, over equal pay and issued an internal memo acknowledging that they haven't quite gotten this internet thing just yet.
“Meanwhile, quietly Obama's polling numbers are going up. He is polling over 45 percent approval in May alone and recent polls show his disapproval rating at just under 50 percent.
“Under-employment hangs out there; Congress forms a new committee to investigate Benghazi. The president dedicates the new 9/11 museum and raises a lot of money in New York City. But Sterling/Jay-Z/New York Times are the walking wounded this week."
