Pollster John Zogby reports in our weekly White House report card that President Obama is improving in his approval rating as unemployment holds steady and the White House makes its Obamacare signup numbers.
"I am just going to look at the numbers this week.
“The unemployment rate held steady at 6.7 percent with about 200,000 new jobs created last month. Over 7 million people have registered for Obamacare via either the federal or state exchanges. That number will grow. Another 4.5 million are now on the expanded Medicaid program where that is available and about 3 million 22-26 year olds have been allowed to stay on their parent's policies. We don't have any numbers on how many people signed up for insurance directly with insurance carriers.
“A look at 2016 shows Hillary Clinton leading main GOP opponents by 18-23 points, polling over 50 percent in each case. There is hardly an 'Obama drag' on her. And the Zogby Analytics Poll of likely voters this week has the president's job performance rating at 48 percent approval. Each of those numbers will be challenged by opponents, but refute each one with numbers not emotion. This was a good week for Mr. Obama."
