Pollster John Zogby reports in our weekly White House report card that President Obama is benefitting from a less turbulent week, and a decision to take a “selfie” of and not twerk Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt.
"There was some controversy this week but when the dust settled it was much ado about nothing.
“The president gave a moving eulogy to former South African President Nelson Mandela and the nearly 100,000 present were ecstatic.
“Back home, Congress actually compromised on a budget deal that neither conservatives nor progressives like, but does avert a government shutdown at least for two years. It has already passed the House.
“And there were no new glitches with Obamacare as thousands sign up for exchanges.
“Internationally, Israel has quietly backed down from its challenge to the Iran pre-deal and will focus on shaping the final package. Reports coming in reveal that Syria is actually destroying it chemical weapons. As for Selfie-gate,' at least the Obama wasn't twerking with the lovely Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt."
