John Zogby's Obama Weekly Report Card is Featured in Paul Bedard's "Washington Secrets" Published weekly in The Washington Examiner

Grade for June 3 - June 8: C

Not only has President Obama's overall job rating gone up three points to 53 percent in our Zogby Analytics poll hot off the press (May 29-30), but his numbers have actually improved among Republican voters -- from 17 percent to 25 percent.

Scandals still dominate the news from Inside the Beltway so let me suggest what might be going on here. Maybe Americans don't care that much to let it dominate their lives. Perhaps they don't really connect the president himself to the Cincinnati, Ohio office of the IRS, or spying on the press? It could be that they are tired of the bickering. Or maybe they like Obama more than they like the GOP?

Another of our notable findings is that now 39 percent say the country is headed in the right direction, up three points from two weeks ago. Applications for jobless benefits are again down and this week's unemployment report for May will come out just before I write next my next Report Card.

"To maintain my ongoing metaphor: President Obama is now just knee-deep in scandal (down from waist-deep last week). Things can change. That's why we do this each week."
